International Contest of Dinosaur Illustrations

RULES

1. Theme: Dinosaurs and other mesozoic reptiles. Drawings of bones or life-like representation of dinosaurs are accepted.

2. Identification: The illustrations must be accompanied by the identifcation of the author (name, age, e-mail, phone number, adress and country) in a simply and unequivocal way. Each illustration should be titled (the name of the dinosaur is preferred).

3. Participants: Any participant, national or foreign, over 15 years old is accepted.

4. Size and techniques: not smaller than 148 x 210 mm. Free format. The frame is optional although encouraged. All illustration techniques and materials are accepted.

5. Illustration selection: The drawings will be selected by its scientific precision and technique quality. Drawings of Portuguese species are preferred as well as species in its natural environment in case of life reconstitution.

6. Calendar:

Deadline: 31st of July.
Exposition and prize announcement: October.
Devolution of the art-works to authors: From November.

7. Prizes: The prizes will be payed in Euro.

8. Shipping and submissions: The illustrations can be sent by post mail or delivery to the Museum of Lourinhã.

The Museum is not responsible for any damages or losses of the material in competition. The Museum of Lourinhã will not pay any customs fees or faxes. In order to avoid high fees and costume taxes, we advise US participants to declare the package as "no commercila value" and as a "gift" to the Museum. Participants are advised to provide good packing. In last ICDI editions some illustrations were damaged during posting. E-mail submissions are not valid.

9. Digital images should be printed in paper but a copy in CD-Rom must be also submited with a minimum definition of 300 dpi, natural size, not compressed. JPEG or GIF. Those will not be returned.

10. Artwork devolution costs above 50 Euros will be supported by the participant. Digital artwork will not be returned.

11. The jury is composed by Miguel Telles Antunes (paleontologist), Fernando Correia (biologist and scientific illustrator), Nuno Farinha (biologist and scientific illustrator), Octávio Mateus (paleontologist and organization) and José Projecto (painter).The jury’s final decisions are incontestable and the jury has the right to not attribute any prize, if the lack of the quality justifies it.The competition will only take place if there are, at least, ten competitors.

12. Reproduction rights: The GEAL-Museum of Lourinhã has the reproduction rights of the illustrations, refering always the name of the author.

13. Illustrations submitted in previous ICDI editions are not valid.

6º Concurso Internacional de Ilustração de Dinossauros, 2009

Regulamento

6. Critérios de selecção das obras: As obras são seleccionados pelo seu rigor científico e qualidade das técnicas utilizadas. Obras submetidas a anteriores edições do CIIDs não são admissíveis.
São critérios de preferência:
- Ilustrações de espécies portuguesas
- Animais em recontituição de vida enquadrados no seu ambiente.

7. Calendário:
- Entrega das obras a concurso: até 31 Maio de 2009.
- Exposição e anúncio dos resultados: até 31 de Julho de 2009.

Notas:
1. O GEAL - Museu da Lourinhã não se responsabiliza por danos ou extravio do material enviado a concurso. Alertam-se os concorrentes para que devem providenciar um bom acondicionamento no caso de transporte por correio. Em edições anteriores do concurso foram recebidos muitas obras danificadas durante o transporte.
2. De forma a evitar pesadas taxas alfandegárias aconselha-se a que as obras sejam declaradas "sem valor comercial" e como "doação" ou “empréstimo”. A organização não cobre taxas alfandegárias.
3. Aconselham-se os participantes dos EUA a não usarem a transportadora FedEx.

Concurso Internacional de Ilustración de Dinosaurios

Reglamento

1. Tema: Dinosaurios y otros reptiles mesozoicos. Estos pueden ser reconstitución de vida o ilustraciones de fosiles.

2. Identificación: Las ilustraciones deberán estar acompañadas de una identificación clara e inequivoca de su autor (nombre, edad, email, teléfono y pais). Se aconseja a que la ilustración tenga un titulo y que sea el nombree de la especie o genero del dinosaurio.

3. Participantes: Cualquier participante, nacional ou extranjeiro, con más de 15 años puede presentarse.

4. Técnicas y dimensiones: La dimensión minima es de 148 x 210 mm. No hay dimensión maxima. Es preferible enmarcar los trabajos, aunque es opcional. Se aceptan todas las tecnicas de ilustración y todos los materiales.

5. Seleccion de las obras: Los trabajos serán seleccionados por lo rigor científico y la calidad de la tecnica. Se da preferencia a especies portuguesas y ambientadas en su entorno, si es una reconstitución de vida.

6. Calendario:

La fecha final de recepción de los trabajos es el 31 de Julio.

7. Premios: Los premios se entregarán en Euros.

5 menciones de honor	50 € cada una
Dos de los premios serán para ilustraciones de fosiles/huesos.

8. Envio de las obras: Los trabajos deberán ser enviados por correo o entregados en el Museu de Lourinhã.

El Museu de Lourinhã no asume la responsabilidad por la perdida del material presentado a concurso. Se aconseja a los participantes a declarar sus trabajos "sin valor comercial" y "donativo".

9. Las imagenes digitales deben ser enviadas en soporte papel y también CD-Rom. En este se pide una definición minima de 300 dpi, 100 x 148mm, formato JPEG, GIF o TIF.

10. Devolución de las obras: Las despesas de aduana ni los costes de las obras superiores a 50 € no serán pagados. Los trabajos podrán ser recogidos en la misma direccióno por correo

11. Juzgado: La decision del jurado es unica u no admite recurso. El juzgado se reserva también el derecho de no atribuir ningún premio caso la calidad de los trabajos no lo justifique. El concurso solo será efectuado caso se presenten al menos diez concursantes.

12. Derechos de reprodución: El Museu da Lourinhã tendrá los derechos de reprodución de las ilustraciones, con el compromiso de mencionar siempre el respectivo autor.

13. Los trabajos ya presentados en los CIIDs anteriores no serán aceptados.

Internationaler Kontest fuer Dinosaurierillustrationen

RULES

1. Thema: Dinosaurier und andere mesozoische Reptilien. Akzeptiert werden Zeichnungen von Knochen und Lebendrepraesentationen von Dinosauriern.

2. Identifikation: Alle Illustration muessen ausfuerlich gekennzeichnet sein (Name, Alter, e-mail, Telefonnummer, Adresse und Herkunftsland des Autors). Jede Illustration sollte betitelt sein (der Name des Dinosauriers wird bevorzugt).

3. Teilnehmerbedingungen: Jeder Teilnehmer ueber 15 Jahren wird akzeptiert.

4. Technische Daten: Nicht kleiner als 148 x 210 mm. Das Format ist frei waehlbar. Ein Bilderrahmen ist optional. Alle Techniken und Materialien werden akzeptiert.

5. Illustration und Selektion: Die Zeichnungen werden anhand der wissenschaftlichen Praezesion und technischen Qualitaet ausgewaehlt. Die Zeichnungen von Spezien aus Portugal werden bevorzugt, ebenso wie Tiere in ihrer natuerlichen Umgebung.

6. Daten:

Einsendeschluss: 31. Juli;
Ausstellung und Preisuebergabe : Oktober;
Ruecksendung der Bilder zum Autor: ab November.

7. Preise: Die Preise werden in Euro ausgezahlt.

8. Zusendung: Die Zeichnungen koennen per Post gesendet werden.

Das Museum uebernimmt keine Haftung bei Beschaedigungen. Desweiteren wird keine Aufwandsentschaedigung gewaehrleistet.
Wegen der hohen Zollgebuehren raten wir den Teilnehmern aus den USA das Paket mit “kein kommerzieller Wert” oder als “Geschenk” zu deklarieren.
Es sollte auf gutes Verpackungsmaterial geachtet werden.
Einsendungen per e-mail werden nicht beruecksichtigt.

9. Digitale Bilder sollten auf Papier gedruckt und eine Kopie auf CD-Rom beigefuegt (nicht weniger als 300 dpi, natuerliche Groesse). JPEG oder GIF.

10. Wenn die Ruecksendung der Bilder ueber 50 Euro kostet, muss ein Teil der Kosten selbst uebernommen werde. Digitale Bilder werden nicht zurueckgeschickt.

11. Die Jury bildet Miguel Telles Antunes (Palaeontologe), Fernando Correia (Biologe und wissenschaftlicher Zeichner), Nuno Farinha (Biologe und wissenschaftlicher Zeichner), Octávio Mateus (Palaeontologe und Organisation) und José Projecto (Zeichner).
Die entgueltige Entscheidung der Jury ist unantastbar und die Jury hat das Recht keine Preise zu verteilen, wenn der Mangel an Qualitaet gerechtfertigt ist. Der Kontest findet nur statt wenn wenigstens 10 Einsendungen erfolgt sind.

12. Reproduktionsrechte: Das GEAL-Museum in Lourinhã hat das Recht die Illustrationen zu reproduzieren, jedoch immer mit dem Namen des Autors.

13. Bilder die ein zweites mal eingesendet werden haben keine Gueltigkeit.

International Konkurrence i Dinosaur Illustrationer

REGLER

1. Tema: Dinosaur og andre mesozoiske reptiler. Illustrationer af knogler eller naturligt udseende dyr modtages

2. Identifikation: Medfølgende illustrationerne skal være kunstnerens navn, alder og kontaktinformation på en klar og letforståelig maner. Alle illustrationer skal være udstyret med titel (Dinosaurerens navn foretrækkes).

3. Deltagerkrav: Enhver person, -portugisisk som udenlandsk, der er fyldt 15 år kan deltage.

4. Format og størrelse: Formatet valgfrit, men en minimumsstørrelse på 148 x 210 mmm ønskes. Alle illustrations-teknikker og materialer accepteres

5. Udvælgelse: Illustrationerne vil blive udvalgt efter deres videnskabelige præcision og tekniske kvalitet. Illustrationer af Portugisiske arter fortrækkes, og hvis der er tale om naturligt udseende dyr, foretrækkes disse i deres naturlige miljø.

8. Illustrationer kan sendes til Museet i Lourinhã.

Museet i Lourinhã er ikke ansvarlig for skader på eller tab af materialer. Vi anbefaler deltagere fra USA at deklarere deres værker ”uden kommerciel værdi”.

9. Digitale illustrationer: Digitale illustrationer skal sendes med CD-rom. Minimumskrav: 600 dpi, 100 x 148mm, JPEG, GIF eller TIF -format.

10. Udgifter, i forbindelse med told eller tilbagesendelse af værker, som overstiger 50 euro bliver ikke dækket.

11. Juryens beslutning er endegyldig, og juryen forebeholder sig retten til ikke at uddele præmier hvis manglen på kvalitet retfærdiggør dette. Konkurrencen vil kun blive afhviklet, hvis et minimum af ti deltagere har indsendt materiale.

12. Museet har reproduktionsrettighederne på illustrationerne. I tilfælde af brug vil kunstnerens navn altid blive refereret til.

13. Illustrationer tilmeldt tidligere års konkurrence bliver ikke accepteret.
